Meet Shaun Gaw, a tech-savvy and fun-loving student with a passion for collecting figures and losing himself in various games. With a keen interest in technology, Shaun enjoys building computers and expanding his collection of computer peripherals like keyboards and mice.
When he isn’t busy at school, he loves throwing wild movie marathons with his friends. And adding an interesting twist to his daily routine, Shaun effortlessly glides to school on his electric scooter!
Exploring the World of Programming at CIIT
Shaun has always dreamed of working in an engineering or programming-related field. So it shouldn’t be a surprise that his love of technology and hobbies greatly impacted his decision to pursue a programming strand.
After discovering CIIT, Shaun realized this was the ideal place for honing his skills and connecting with like-minded individuals. Every day is a journey of learning something new. With classes taught by industry professionals, Shaun gets to learn first hand the latest trends and technologies in the programming industry.
He also sees several benefits to studying a programming strand, including understanding essential programming languages (C, Java, and HTML), as well as access to other software that students can freely use.
Beyond that, it offers exposure to diverse programming programs, including Game Design and Development, Application Development, Computer Programming, and Web Design and Development. Not to mention how fun and engaging it is while simultaneously improving analytical and problem-solving skills.
Certainly, stereotypes exist in every field—and Shaun acknowledges that in programming and technology, people often assume you’re extremely knowledgeable.
But, the reality is different. The way to become an expert in a field is to work your way up the ranks, put in the time and effort, and learn from the best.
So for those aspiring to pursue this programming strand, Shaun emphasizes the importance of responsibility and diligence. He advocates for a committed approach to learning, urging fellow students to embrace challenges and stay focused on their goals. Additionally, he highlights that maintaining the right mindset and seeking guidance from teachers should never be daunting, as these steps are sure to pave the way for success.
Looking ahead, Shaun has a well-defined path. His goal is to complete his college education and then move to Japan to embark on a career as a software engineer. This has long been a dream of his, where he aspires to learn about the latest innovations, collaborate with other people, and develop his expertise.
Of course, his accomplishments don’t mean anything without his parents. Once everything is set, he’s excited to bring them along to share in the incredible cultural experience of Japan!
