To be a good IT consultant, you need to be able to troubleshoot hardware, software, and even network problems. Plus, you need to be good in project management as you have to make do with what your client can afford.

Your role will be developing multimedia features including text, sound, graphics, digital photography, 2D/3D modeling, animation, and video. To be good at this job, you have to be adept in specialized computer languages such as HTML, Java, Rails, and PHP. You’ll be doing a lot of coding, after all.

Another option you can explore is being on the programming side of the game. To impress possible employers, you need to come up with a strong portfolio or work demos that display your body of work.

Because you’ll be dealing with different clients that have different requirements, you need to have good project management skills as well.
