1. Digital art involves less skill than traditional art.
In making high quality art pieces, no “shortcuts” or exceptions exist. Besides, creating a beautiful image using a computer isn’t any easier than using a brush and canvas.
Most myth believers are unaware of software application in the field. Remember, your computer won’t do the work for you. It takes passion and skill to become an expert digital artist and create a masterpiece.
2. Digital art requires less practice.
Not everyone can do it. Don’t assume that digital art is the same as simple Microsoft Paint drawing. As with other skills, it demands the same practice and knowledge. Maybe, more practice than you do with brushes and canvases. In fact, learning digital art doesn’t end in knowing how to use computer resources. You must, likewise, master the ideal software, including color theory, brushes, and other tools.
3. Digital art entails expensive software and gadgets to produce great works.
Adobe Suite is great to use but pricey. However, you’ll find free open source image software with the same features! A handful of them are Corel Painter Classic, GIMP, Inkscape, PaintTool SAI, Pixia, and Paint.net. In the same way, your gadgets mustn’t be expensive. You can find cheaper choices that offer the same settings, options, and sensitivity. Remember, art doesn’t create itself. It’s the artist that creates it.
4. Digital art doesn’t exist outside the Internet.
Digital art has gained more respect over the past decade. You’ll find exhibits and galleries around the world that feature digital art and new media. One such famous gallery is the Soho Arthouse (known before as Soho Gallery for Digital Art) in Soho, New York.
5. Digital art can’t give you a better future.
Studies show that jobs in this trade will grow faster than the average rate in other fields. In particular, this means more jobs will be available for digital artists worldwide.
